ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER 2000-1.Supreme Court of Michigan.
January 27, 2000.
On order of the Court, the following order is effective immediately.
It appearing that the administration of justice would be served by the establishment of a Council of Chief Judges to advise the Chief Justice and the Court on administrative matters; it is ORDERED that the Council of Chief Judges is established.
The Council is advisory in nature and is charged with the following duties:
1. To advise and make recommendations on administrative matters as requested by the Chief Justice.
2. To provide information for the improvement of the administration of justice.
The Council shall consist of sixteen (16) members. Council members shall be chief judges appointed by the Michigan Supreme Court. Fifteen (15) members shall be chief judges of circuit, probate, and district courts; one (1) member shall be the chief judge of the Court of Appeals.
The term of appointment shall be consistent with the term of the Chief Justice. Appointments to the Council shall be made by the Chief Justice. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Chief Justice.
The Council shall meet as convened by the Chief Justice.
